Tom Selleck Nova Scotia

I caught a clip on the local news last night, ATV, where they interviewed Tom Selleck, who is in Nova Scotia again filming another of his Jesse Stone movies. Gotta love that. Selleck is ever the gentleman and speaks very highly of Nova Scotia and Nova Scotians.

Tom Selleck is such a consumate professional in my opinion, and appears very down to earth when he is interviewed. I cannot help but think he is a regular guy, as much as a hearthrob, movie and television star, make that superstar, can be....no pretensions, and so pleasant. Makes me want to talk to him too.....

Usually the Jesse Stone movies are filmed around the

Capital Health Nurses Talking Strike Action In June

Let me start by saying I am not a health care worker, nurse or government employee or anything like that so I don't have any information about this except for the news reports.

According to the CBC nurses/health care workers in Nova Scotia Capital Health are gearing up for a strike which will likely happen in June.

I cannot for the life of me understand how we can allow nurses and health care workers to strike. It should be illegal. They are government employees, civil servants and if they aren't an essential service, I don't know who is.....

Let's be realistic, employees at a

Mike Savage Should Run For Mayor

With his recent loss of the Federal Election, former Liberal Member of Parliament,(we won't hold that against him, just chaulk it up to the foibles of youth) Michael Savage is being touted as the next mayor of the Halifax Regional Municipality.

Well now that just might be A-OK. First of all, it's high time we bid a not so fond farewell to the Honorable Mayor Peter Kelly and got someone who might be able to do something to put Halifax back on the map. Right now Michael is just another out of work guy, but come a municipal election, I think he might have a pretty decent chance to get the top job running the province's largest municipality.

And even if he can't put Halifax back on the map,

2011 Canadian Federal Election

Well...wow! The Canadian Federal Election 2011. It was a barn burner no doubt about that. Prime Minister Stephen Harper got his majority government that he wanted, and Jack Layton's NDP's are the official opposition, and well pity the poor Liberals....Michael Ignatiff is third and the Liberal Party is pretty much in disarray.

One of the big upsets of the evening, at least in my area, was the loss of Liberal incumbent Michael Savage to the New Democratic, Robert Chisholm. Robert was the leader of the Nova Scotia NDP's some time back, dropped out of the political scene for awhile, but dropped back in for this election and guess what? He won, beating Michael Savage.

Dog Stolen In Home Invasion

OK, talk about someone having a bad day....did you hear about the person in Lower Sackville, Nova Scotia who had his pit bull dog stolen??

Apparently two men entered a home in Lower Sackville as part of a home invasion and made off with the resident's pit bull. Aren't these the dogs that people have as protection?

Police are investigating, but frankly, if that was my dog, I would tell them to let the crooks keep him......

Osama bin Laden Dead

Nova Scotia sent many troops to Afghanistan in the War on Terror following 911 and for that matter, is still involved in the fight against terrorism. Well, tonight that fight got some good news.....

Osama bin Laden has been killed !! In what might be the most significant event in the war against the terrorists and Islamic extremists that would just as soon see us dead, the news tonight is good news. The news reports coming in are rather sketchy, but it sounds like he was found in Pakistan, and his body is in the hands of the Americans.

It's been a long, long, hunt for bin laden, but finally it sounds like those involved in the hunt were finally successful.

It's time, we should all be thankful for this, and demonstrates the persistance of the United States and it's Allies that if you mess with them, they will track you down, however long it takes and at whatever cost......
